Linking Policy
Linking Policy Evaluation Criteria
As a public service, Richmond SCORE, Chapter 12 may provide
links to other organizations that provide information of benefit
to small businesses. External links do not constitute an
endorsement by Richmond SCORE, Chapter 12 of the opinions,
products or services presented on the external site, or of any
sites linked to it.
External links are intended to support Richmond SCORE, Chapter
12’s mission. They are not intended to support private or
commercial organizations or businesses. Links to .org, .gov, .edu,
.mil or other non-profit sites that provide small business
information related to Richmond SCORE, Chapter 12’s mission are
encouraged because of their general non-commercial,
public-interest nature. Links to .com, .net, and other
commercial, for-profit sites may be acceptable if supportive of
small business needs and relevant to Richmond SCORE, Chapter
12’s mission. These sites may include:

SCORE, Chapter 12’s privacy and security policies?
- Is the recommended website "user-friendly?"
Richmond SCORE, Chapter 12 will not link to websites which
contain the following:
- Website which exhibits hate, bias, or
discrimination or promotes one political party over another
- Website which is primarily commercial in
nature (i.e., advertising a product, charging a usage fee,
soliciting user information, etc.)
- Websites which charge a user-fee for
access
- Websites which violate federal ethics

contain unsubstantiated claims or are determined to be in

Use of Richmond SCORE, Chapter 12 notification regarding links

Links to Web pages and all forms of content that reside outside
of richmondscore.org must contain a notification (bye-bye
message) to the user that he or she is leaving the Richmond
SCORE, Chapter 12’s web site
A statement about endorsement and liability must accompany the

Reciprocal Links
We may link to information in accordance to our linking policy,
whether or not the other website links to us or not. Richmond
SCORE, Chapter 12 does not routinely engage in reciprocal

Privacy Policy
This privacy statement describes what we do with the information
that we receive about you when you visit our Web site. The
information that we receive about you depends on what you do when
you visit our Web site.

If you request email counseling:
We receive your name, email address and zip code when you submit
your request. We also receive any other personal information that
you provide in the text of your email request.We use your name and email address to respond to your request for
business counseling. We use your zip code to identify the general
area in which you live so that we can monitor the geographical
scope and impact of our services and also so that we can provide
counseling appropriate for your location. The SCORE counselor that
receives your email request will have access to other personal
information that you provide in the text of your email request.
The SCORE counselor will keep this information confidential but
may consult with other SCORE counselors about your situation in
order to better serve you.
Security
This site has security measures in place to protect the loss,
misuse and alteration of the information under our control. In
order to prevent unauthorized access to your information, we have
instituted safeguards such as physical access restrictions,
software defenses and written guidelines instructing volunteers on
the confidentiality of your personal information. We have also
implemented safeguards to notify us in the event of loss of
Internet connectivity. Even with these safeguards in place,
unauthorized access, loss of connectivity or hardware failure can
still occur. For this reason, we cannot guarantee that our
safeguards will be totally effective all of the time nor can we be
responsible for lost or delayed requests, email, or content that
may result from loss of connectivity or other technical failures
Children’s Privacy
We are concerned about protecting children’s privacy. We do not
anticipate that children will be visitors or users of our Web
site, email counseling, or other services. We do not knowingly
collect personal contact information, online or offline, from
children under the age of 13 and will not do so when we learn or
suspect that such information is being provided by a child even if
the stated age is 13 or over.
